Hyrox Training Edinburgh
Strength that survives running. Running that survives strength. Coached prep for your first — or fastest — Hyrox.
What Hyrox Is
Hyrox is the fitness race: eight 1km runs, each followed by a functional workstation — sleds, lunges, wall balls, burpee broad jumps, rowing and more. It rewards exactly one thing: being strong while tired. That's what we train.
You will not be doing it on your own.
How We Train It
Compromised Running
Intervals that teach you to run on heavy legs and lift with a high heart rate — the skill Hyrox actually tests.
Functional Strength
Kettlebells, carries, lunges, slam balls and engine work, built around the demands of the stations.
Race-Day Craft
Pacing, transitions and station strategy from a coach who has raced obstacle courses and ultra marathons himself.
How It's Delivered
Hyrox prep runs through 1:1 coaching (£45/session), couples PT (£30 pp) or small-group sessions (£20 pp) — programmed specifically for your race date — with outdoor bootcamp classes as the perfect engine-building base between sessions. Contact Dave with your race date and current training and he'll map the block to it.
"…I even did my first Spartan 21k event in October and was amazed to come first in my age category. This is all down to Dave's enthusiasm and drive to help you believe you can do it and push you to the max when you think you cannot do any more."
— Jen Marwick, PT client
Hyrox Questions
I've never done a Hyrox — can I still train for one?
Yes. Prep starts from your current fitness, whether or not you've raced before. The programme starts from your current fitness and builds to race demands — every station has a scaled version in training.
How long do I need to prepare?
8-12 weeks of structured prep is a good target for a first race, on top of general fitness. Tell Dave your race date and he'll work backwards from it.
Is there a dedicated Hyrox class?
Prep is coached through 1:1 and small-group PT blocks, with outdoor bootcamp as the conditioning base. If you have a crew who want to prep together, ask about a group block.
Do I need to be a runner?
No — half of Hyrox is stations. The running is short, repeated 1km efforts, and learning to run compromised is a trainable skill, not a talent.
Got a race date? Let's build the block.
